The Game Board is the homework half of the Academic Playbook system: a wall board that turns “what do I even have due?” into four columns your kid can see.

The Game Board: The Homework Scoreboard

Tape four columns to the wall where homework happens:

SCHEDULE · everything due in the next 7 days

TODAY’S LINEUP · max 3. Set the lineup once. Then play.

IN THE GAME · only 1. One ball in play at a time.

FINAL · finished work stays up all week. Their stat line.

Stuck on something? The card goes to TIMEOUT: NEED COACH, with the name of who can help. Big project? A Game Plan card breaks it into plays, and only the next play goes in the game.

Built For A Kid Who’d Rather Be Moving

Designed with distractible kids and kids with ADHD in mind:

  • One drill per page. A DO THIS line of 20 words or fewer
  • Short sessions: 10, 15 or 20 minutes, like practice blocks
  • Reps count every attempt, not just right answers
  • “Seasons don’t reset.” Missed a practice? Pick up at the first empty circle
  • No leaderboards, no streaks, no comparing to teammates
  • Print only the pages on their plan

Sport-agnostic on purpose. The study pages draw no balls, fields or courts, so it works for the soccer player, the swimmer, the wrestler and the dance-team kid alike.

It follows research on how memory works (practice from memory, spaced over days, with feedback). It’s a tool, not a treatment.

Questions parents ask

What ages and grades is this for?
Ages 11 to 14 is the sweet spot (grades 5 to 9). The tone is grown-up, with no cartoon mascots, so a 13-year-old won’t feel babied.

Is it good for kids with ADHD?
It was designed with distractible kids and kids with ADHD in mind: one job per page, a short DO THIS line, short sessions, a clear next step and nothing that resets after a missed day. It is a study tool, not a treatment.

Does my kid have to love sports things?
It helps. The whole system speaks the language of practice, team sports, swimming, dance team or any sport with a coach. If that’s not your kid, the same system comes in 10 other worlds with matching page numbers.

Can I use it for homeschool or my classroom?
Yes. The license covers one household, or one teacher’s own students. Reprint it for every test this year.
