The Callboard is the homework half of the The Rehearsal Method system: a wall board that turns “what do I even have due?” into four columns your kid can see.

The Callboard: Post The Schedule Where The Cast Can See It

Every stage manager posts the schedule where the cast can see it. Now your kid does too. Four columns go on the wall:

CALLBOARD · everything due in the next 7 days

TODAY’S CALL · max 3. Set today’s call once. Then rehearse.

ON STAGE · only 1. One scene on stage at a time.

CURTAIN CALL · finished work stays up all week. Take a bow.

Stuck? Call a HOLD: NEED DIRECTION and write who can help. A big project becomes a Full Production card, broken into scenes, with only the next one on stage.

For The Big-Feelings, Big-Energy Performer

Designed with distractible kids and kids with ADHD in mind:

  • One scene per page, with a DO THIS line of 20 words or fewer
  • Every run counts, even the messy ones
  • “The show goes on.” A missed rehearsal never resets anything
  • No applause meters, streaks or rankings
  • A grown-up, professional tone, not a cutesy one
  • Print only the pages on their schedule

It follows research on how memory works (practice from memory, spaced over days, with feedback). It’s a tool, not a treatment.

What You Get

  • The Callboard: 10 pages (4 column pages, setup page, cut-out cards, project card, daily routine poster, adult page)
  • The Callboard as a single 11×17 poster for a print shop

US Letter, black-and-white friendly, print at home.

Add the Opening Night test prep guide with the Theater & Performing Arts bundle for $16.99.

Questions parents ask

What ages and grades is this for?
Ages 11 to 14 is the sweet spot (grades 5 to 9). The tone is grown-up, with no cartoon mascots, so a 13-year-old won’t feel babied.

Is it good for kids with ADHD?
It was designed with distractible kids and kids with ADHD in mind: one job per page, a short DO THIS line, short sessions, a clear next step and nothing that resets after a missed day. It is a study tool, not a treatment.

Does my kid have to love theater things?
It helps. The whole system speaks the language of drama club, musicals, rehearsals and being on stage. If that’s not your kid, the same system comes in 10 other worlds with matching page numbers.

Can I use it for homeschool or my classroom?
Yes. The license covers one household, or one teacher’s own students. Reprint it for every test this year.
